Tom James is no stranger to vanlife. His style used to be more of throw a mattress into the back of his work van for weekend escapes. He then figured out that comfort and luxury added to the enjoyment of being under the stars with the freedom of van travel.

Tom would describe himself as an outdoorsy person. Happier in the fresh air, preferably whilst moving at speed on a mountain bike, motorbike, snowboard or sailboat. And of course, living the vanlife.

A firm believer in looking after your mental wellbeing as well as physical wellbeing Tom created Reset and Chill Campers. The life that camping, travelling around beautiful countryside and enjoying the outdoors offers is a fantastic way to do exactly that: reset and chill.

Tom has had a lifestyle that most can only dream of. No stranger to hard work and long hours, he has just chosen to do it in beautiful surroundings, doing something he is passionate about - building, renovating and designing. Spending the majority of the past decade living in Chamonix Mont-Blanc in the French Alps building, renovating and maintaining high-end Chalets and Apartments, taught him an intricate set of skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and interior design.



It was here he developed his love of vanlife. Living in the middle of Europe meant it was easy to travel and spend weekends away on the north Italian coast, beautiful Lac d’Annecy in France and the picturesque island of Corsica to name a few. All of this was done in his then work van, temporarily set up with a mattress in the back and some camping gear.

The simple life, connection with nature and being outside in the evening with a BBQ under the stars brought such enjoyment and became Tom’s love in life.

This evolved over the years, culminating in 2019 when he spent a month with his partner travelling around France, Spain and Portugal in an SWB VW T6 Transporter. This trip led to the dream of a larger van in which it was possible to stand up, have a shower, perhaps fit in a motorbike and enjoy more comfort. And so Reset and Chill Campers was born.

Reset and Chill campers are the perfect way to experience vanlife. You can reconnect with nature, escape from normal life but keep the luxuries you want. You can even put your motorbike or SUP kit in the back.
